Summertime. Yes, it is almost that time of year again (or it feels like it) and you know that means? Festivals, palm trees and a lot of sun is in your near future. The last thing you want to be wearing is some uncomfortable, tight, hot outfit with high-heeled shoes that sink into the ground as you walk….Oh wait, that’s my nightmare. Unless I am going back to my hotel room for round 2 for outfits, I have to be in something comfortable, that I can last in ALL DAY LONG (without annoying other people with my complaining- my best friends are all nodding there head right now). Below are the details for my first of many comfy, summer outfits.
⇓Do Summer in Comfort⇓
Saint Laurent ‘Micro Clous’ Espadrilles (5US/35EU), TopShop MOTO White Rip Mom Shorts (0), Madewell Chambray Courier Shirt (XXS), Rebecca Minkoff ‘Mini MAC’ Convertible Crossbody Bag, The Kooples Felt Hat with Leather Edge (S)
Espadrilles are HUGE in this year’s summer stylebook. I don’t blame them, these bad boys are comfortable and looky there they are easy to walk in too! Below are a few other espadrilles that I’ve fallen for. ↓⇓↓
What can I say? I normally don’t like to wear tight outfits, based solely on the fact that I feel constricted and I may have moderate OCD- that’s beside the point. This button-down denim shirt from Madewell had my number. You could easily dress it up with some black pants and stilettos or keep it comfy. Denim is also another must for this summer season.
As for the shorts, I am a huge advocate for slightly, high-waisted, high-waisted, super, high-waisted anything. It works well with my short frame and makes me look maybe, almost 5’2. Also, TopShop always fits me well and stay true to size.
***This shirt runs large, get one size smaller and know that it is suppose to be larg’er’ but not consuming half your body.
Hats, I love♥ them and should wear them more often. The thing is, I have an abnormally small head and most o/s hats will not fit. I really have to be on a mission to find a hat that I feel confident in. Most of the time I don’t search and if I fumble upon one I can’t take my eyes off of, then it’s a keeper. (P.S. This hat was a little too large, but it was the last one and it caught my eye.)
Hats that tend to draw my attention have medium-sized brims. If I dare wear one of those large, floppy hats I look like a life-sized bobble head- absolutely ridiculous. Anyway, if it’s hot outside the shade never hurts and you guarantee that you scalp won’t be sunburnt. Sounds like a win/win to me.
The purse. What can I say? I can’t resist a splash a color, especially when my shoes are a little fun. Normally I despise hot pink, but I think the contrast was needed to give a little umph to this outfit. Don’t be scared to do that, add a little color, even if it is just some red lips it can pull everything else together. Remember a little color, I’m not saying to go all Rainbow Brite on me. (For anyone younger than 25, go ahead and Google Rainbow Brite). Oh yeah, I went with a choker that brought me back to the 90’s. I mean, why not?
Please excuse whatever expression I have on my face, in this pic. Poor Chris (my husband) he has to put up with me and he is actually the one taking the photos. I have side story for that following. I’m trying to get back into the flow of things and I am really sucking at it. My excuses aside, I enjoy doing this. It’s like my yoga, that’s the best way I could describe it. But just like most Millennials, I multitask too much and next thing I know I haven’t slept in 48 hours (minus a few naps) and I still didn’t get to “me” time, blog time. Excuse I know, everyone has them. Bare with me though, I have a lot of good recipes that have been tested on the world’s pickiest eater (My Husband) and I have two dresses hanging up, looking at me, reminding me I am slacking . The cause and effect of that is for another day and another post.
By the way, I am still selling a lot of clothes on my eBay store MacaronsAndMasonJars. Some of the outfits, from the blog, will also be up for grabs along with purses, shoes and designer brand items. I will be visiting the Happiest Place on Earth next week, so it will be a little bare during that time.
Side Story: Chris takes all of these pictures for me and I had a bright idea to wait until night and take pics by the giant Chess board and the string lighting. Really cool idea? I thought so myself. It did not work out, all of the pictures were fuzzy and we couldn’t get the external flash to do what we want. It was a disaster and Chris was not too keen on missing a basketball game over this…Yet, he came through and was a trooper and we were able to get a couple of good”ish” shots. I will say, I truly am blessed with a great man that continuously puts up with my craziness and controlling ways (for almost 3 years Anniversary May 11). So below are a few shots I just messed around with when editing …Any takers for a game of giant chess?
